Phase II Milestone: Elevating Human Recognition with AI
In late 2024, we officially kicked off Phase II of the Prexable development project. This phase marked a pivotal step toward enhancing human authentication and recognition capabilities within our intelligent surveillance platform.
Our goal? To deliver a robust, AI-powered system tailored for real-world use cases in security and video analytics—focusing on two critical biometric modalities: face recognition and behavior recognition.
Smarter Face Recognition with InsightFace
Face recognition is a notoriously complex computer vision task due to variations like lighting conditions, facial hair, makeup, masks, or glasses. After reviewing top-performing deep learning frameworks—including FaceNet, DeepFace, and Dlib—our team selected InsightFace for integration.

• High accuracy in both verification and identification tasks
• Open-source and actively maintained by the AI community
• Ideal for real-time, security-critical environments
This implementation enables Prexable to perform precise identity recognition, even under challenging conditions.
Understanding Human Actions with MMPose
While face recognition relies on static images, behavioral recognition adds the complexity of analyzing movements over time. We evaluated several industry-standard pose estimation libraries—including OpenPose, AlphaPose, and MediaPipe—before selecting MMPose for its balance of accuracy and server-side efficiency.
Highlights of MMPose:
• Built on PyTorch and part of the OpenMMLab ecosystem
• Supports multi-person pose estimation in real-time
• Offers pre-trained models and customizable training pipelines
• Optimized for low-latency, high-accuracy video processing
With this integration, Prexable is now equipped to interpret human behavior patterns across a range of environments—from workplace compliance to public safety.
